Employment [according to the Labour Force Survey (LFS)]: employed persons are those who, during the reference week of the LFS, did any work for pay or profit, or had a job and were absent from work.

Employment rate (employment/population ratio): number of employed persons expressed as a percentage of the population 15 years of age and over. The employment rate for a particular group (age, sex, marital status, etc.) is the number employed in that group expressed as a percentage of the population for that group.

EREQ Enquête sur le recrutement et l’emploi au Québec (study on hiring and working in Québec): a recurring study that follows current changes in high technology sectors and in highly skilled occupations, taking into consideration changes in employment in other sectors of the economy and in other occupations. The study is carried out by CETECH in collaboration with the Institut de la statistique du Québec.
